WHO THIS SERVES

What This Is For

Hair loss exists on a spectrum. Some patients come in with significant loss and are strong surgical candidates. Others come in earlier — hair that is becoming finer, density that is starting to thin, a hairline that is softening but not yet fully receded. For patients in this second group who do not yet meet the threshold for transplantation, surgery is not the right answer at that moment.
Exosome therapy is the option Dr. Alexander offers in those cases. It is an emerging, physician-supervised approach used as an adjunctive treatment for patients with early-stage or diffuse thinning. It is not a replacement for hair transplant surgery. It is not appropriate for every patient. Whether it is right for you is something Dr. Alexander evaluates during a consultation.

THE SCIENCE

What Exosomes Are

Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles — naturally occurring signaling particles that carry proteins, growth factors, and other molecular signals between cells. In hair medicine, the hypothesis is that delivering concentrated exosome preparations to the scalp may help support the health and activity of existing hair follicles.
This is a developing field. There is growing clinical interest in exosomes as an adjunctive approach to hair health, though the research is ongoing and results vary by patient. Dr. Alexander does not position exosome therapy as a proven cure or as a substitute for surgical correction where surgery is indicated. He presents it as a physician-supervised option for appropriate candidates.

CANDIDACY

Who This May Be Appropriate For

Dr. Alexander may discuss exosome therapy during a consultation if a patient:
Exosome therapy is not offered as a standalone primary treatment for advanced hair loss. Patients with significant balding patterns are evaluated for surgical options first.

OUR PROCESS

The Consultation Comes First

Every exosome therapy recommendation at Biltmore begins with a consultation. Dr. Alexander assesses your hair and scalp, reviews your history, and gives you a direct, honest assessment of whether this approach makes sense for your situation — or whether a different path is more appropriate.

He will not recommend a treatment that is not the right fit for your case.
